A few quick answers before you start.
Is Muay Thai suitable for beginners?
Yes. You'll start in a suitable Basics or All-Level class and learn technique, movement and timing step by step. At Ringside Gym, proper form comes before speed or intensity.
Do I need to be fit before I start?
No. The beginner classes build fitness, coordination and mobility as you train. What matters is that you are generally healthy enough to exercise and ready to progress at your own pace.
Do I have to spar or compete in Muay Thai?
No. Sparring is not compulsory for beginners and is only considered after an extended period of training. You can train Muay Thai without any intention of competing.
What equipment do I need for my first session?
For your first visit, sportswear, water and good personal hygiene are enough. You can borrow boxing gloves from the gym for your first session; once you train regularly, you can build up your own protective equipment step by step.
Do you wear shoes for Muay Thai?
No. We train Muay Thai barefoot on mats. You do not need trainers, yoga shoes or anything similar.
At what age can children start?
Children can join the children's programme from age 9. From age 14, teens train in suitable groups and are gradually introduced to technique, fitness and group training.
Trial training or a training ticket.
Our Muay Thai trial tickets are organised by age group and duration. A trial ticket lets you join the class programme straight away. Once your trial ends, you can continue in your class with a regular training ticket. Each adult may book one weekly trial and one monthly trial; 1-month combination trials count as a monthly trial.
Please note: Tickets are issued to one person and cannot be transferred. You choose your start date during checkout. From that date, your ticket is valid for either 7 or 30 days, depending on your selection.
